1500 Vertical Vent Check Valve

Wager’s model 1500 vent check valve is mounted vertically on the deck of a ship. In the open position, the valve allows for required ventilation. During heavy seas, our disc style float rises to a buna seat, and prevents water and debris from entering tanks and bulkheads.

A 30 x 30 mesh stainless steel screen provides protection from deck fires. A secure cap on the top of the vent allows for easy access to the venting chamber for maintenance. It is available in galvanized steel, and stainless steel. Special request are needed for aluminum and bronze.

1500-MC Vertical Vent Check Valve - ABS Approved

The 1500-MC Series is a vertical vent check valve with the addition of a hand-wheel actuator located on a jackscrew to allow for manual closure when needed. The 1500-MC may be manually closed by turning the hand-wheel in a clockwise direction until it becomes difficult to turn or cease. To manually open the valve, the hand-wheel should be turned counter-clockwise until it ceases. It is important to make sure the manual closing assembly is fully open so as not to obstruct the operating range of motion of the float disc. Not opening the valve fully could prevent the valve from sealing or venting properly. Manual closures are available on all sizes of the 1500 Series.

1500-90 Vertical Vent Check Valve - ABS Approved

The 1500 Series-90 is designed for installations where a 90 degree mount is necessary. The flanged outlet mounts with a 90 degree turn instead of our standard vertical mount. The 1500-90 allows for ventilation in the open position, and a disc style float will rise in the event of heavy seas and prevent sea water and debris from entering into tanks and bulkheads. The 1500-90 is available in all sizes.

They protect tanks and bulkheads from pressure build-up during loading and unloading of liquid or dry cargo and assure maximum efficiency during operations. Tank air escape valves do not have a float or automatic closing, they are used in locations not accessible to sea water. All steel castings are hot dipped galvanized. All aluminum castings are anodized. 1700 Series Inverted Vent Check Valves, which are equipped with floats.

Horizontal In-Line Vent Check Valve

The In-Line Vent Check Valves protect tanks and bulkheads in the same way as standard vent check valves, and should be used during those operations where vent line require in-the-line valves rather than terminal vents. However, the horizontal design allows for more flexibility during the design phase of your piping project.

1300 In-Line Vent Check Valve

Wager's In-Line Valves protect tanks and bulkheads from pressure or vacuum buildup during loading or unloading of tanks, and are used in locations where operations require an in-the-line vent check valve rather than a terminal vent valve. The ball check prevents contamination of tank fluids by water during rough seas. A fine mesh flame screen protects tank gases from igniting when subject to a deck fire. The vent is available less a screen where a low pressure vertical ball check is the only requirement. Available in cast bronze, aluminum or steel.

Rosebox Strainer

The Rosebox strainer was designed by Keppel -Amfels, and manufactured by Wager. Strainers are designed to allow flow thru the piping system of a ship, but to filter undesirable solids. Most strainers use a 1 to 1 ratio with the pipe dimension, but filtering devices can be selected based upon the job required to be done.

If the liquid passing are highly contaminated or viscous in nature, then a larger strainer may be selected. The strainer is made of perforated sheet metal, is hot dip galvanized for added protection, and contains no moving parts.

Anti-Syphonic Valve

This is a vacuum relief and pressure sealing vent valve for marine plumbing systems. Using the valve eliminates the need to install individual vent piping to the atmosphere up through several decks. It means saving space, labor, and weight. The installation of valves of this type aboard ship as plumbing vents has the approval of the U.S. Coast Guard, the American Bureau of Shipping and the U.S. Public Health Service. The valve is made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) which is completely impervious to marine corrosion. It cannot discolor and needs no painting. The rubber seals are protected from damage by a perforated stainless steel screen. It is made with 3/4" IPS threads for simple attachment of a gooseneck vent line. The 3/4" size is adequate for any standard lavatory or water closet. Bronze available upon request.

Bronze Anti-Syphonic Valvebronze


1.5" vertically mounted vacuum relief and pressure sealing vent valve for marine plumbing systems. This sturdy valve is designed to withstand extra pressure aboard ship, and allows for venting as well as sealing in the lines. The valve is made from bearing bronze, is theaded, and contains a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) disc which is completely impervious to marine corrosion.

 

Air Check Valve

The Wager Air Valve meets the requirements of USN and USCG on air scavenger lines to soot blower steam piping on water-tube boilers. This Automatic Spring Check Valve is 31/2 inches long by 11/4 inch diameter, is of simple but rugged design of only five pieces, consisting of a Stainless Steel Body and Cover fully enclosing the Stainless Steel valve-stem and Inconel spring. It can be installed in either vertical or horizontal position, and has 3/8" IPS threads at both male and female ends. Due to the non-corrosive feature of the valve, it may also be used on gas, water, oil or corrosive liquid flow where positive shutoff is required. The valve is designed to withstand pressures up to 2000 psi hydrostatic.

 

Boiler Accessories

The Wager Inspection Light and Viewport are designed to be used in conjunction with one another so that one may observe any fuel line leaks between inner and outer casings of water tube boilers or may see any leaks at hand hole plates on steam headers. The Wager explosion-proof and dust proof Inspection Lights consist of an explosion resistant globe which is inserted into the outside boiler casing. The globe is attached to the inner side of the boiler casing and to the aluminum cover, which is secured to the outside casing. As the lamp socket and the wiring are attached to the cover, they can be checked or changed from the outside without interference with the operation of the burners or boiler or lowering of air pressure in the double casing.

The Wager explosion-resistant and dust-proof Viewports consist of a PYREX plate glass mounted to an aluminum frame and attached to the outer boiler casing. These Viewports may be used alone or in conjunction with the Wager Boiler Inspection Light. The Boiler Inspection Light and the Viewport have both been approved for installation aboard USN and USCG vessels for Oil Drip Detection on boilers. *PYREX ® is a trademark of the Corning Glass Works

Designed to monitor exhaust readings on large stacks,this updated smoke indicator effectively uses surface mount electronics and micro-processing technology, to allow for accurate readings processed right at the stack ! You may use your existing stack penetrations, as well as dampers and aspirating flanges. If you want to keep the visual aspect of your older system, you may do so, and combine both systems.The Stack Check is available for Military and Commercial use.

Visual smoke indicators have been in use for over 50 years. Their design is simple and effective. They are still part of our product line today. Visual smoke indicators provide a visual check of smoke density in the uptake of a boiler. Visual/Photoelectric Smoke Indicator System

Visual/Photoelectric Smoke Indicators are designed to operate in a rugged marine boiler room environment for continuous periods of time, with a minimum amount of maintenance. The system consists of a lamp unit, a reflection unit, and vision unit, which enables the operator below deck to check on the smoke emission from the stack. The photoelectric smoke meter displays the smoke density on a scale graduated from 0 to 100% (accurate to ±2% of smoke opacity). The panel lights give a clear indication of the zone in which the meter is operating. The VM5A-1 Version Passed the US Navy shock and vibration test
